Rachel Walsh case study
For my work experience I worked in a nursery in Ravenna, Italy for a week. Throughout the day I played games with the children, helped with mealtimes and general tidying up tasks. Working in the nursery was so rewarding, at first I found it difficult to understand them, but as time went on I found myself making up games and playing them with the children. Everyone was so friendly and the children by the end were saying my name and asking to play with me! When I wasn’t working there was loads to do, as a group we went shopping, to the cinema, out to some amazing restaurants for dinner and occasionally a siesta after the long day at work! Going on this trip has been one of the best experiences of my life and I am so glad I did it. I made so many new friends who will be friends for life and I am so much more confident in my ability to speak Italian and have realised I can do it and people do understand! Our group leader was so fun to be with and so helpful and always helped if we didn’t understand or couldn’t find something. I would recommend this trip to anyone who loves the language they study and wants to improve not only their speaking skills but also their listening. Most amazing trip of my life and I will never forget my time spent there.
